San Fernando Valley

San Fernando Valley is an urbanized area located in Los Angeles, California, and that most people refer to as The Valley. It has numerous neighborhoods, including Van Nuys, Valley Glen, Chatsworth, and many more. It also integrates some parts of the City of Los Angeles and Burbank, and San Fernando City.

Its recognition is the film studios established here, such as Warner Bros. Studio and Walt Disney Studios. In addition to that, it is also a destination for Universal Studios Hollywood theme park.

Different areas like Santa Susana Mountains bind it, the Simi Hills, the Santa Monica Mountains and Chalk Hills, the Verdugo Mountains, and the San Gabriel Mountains. Its climate is subtropical/hot-summer in the Mediterranean, with hot and long summers and short and warm winters.

Lush riparian plants along the river, creeks, and springs come into their natural habitat alongside temperate grasslands, savannas, and shrubland biomes. Most of the valley comes under the City of Los Angeles jurisdiction. It has been urbanizing and ethnically expanding since the late 1990s. The valley tried to disband from Los Angeles in 2002 to sway away from the city’s reputation for crime and poverty but failed.

San Fernando Valley has numerous recreation areas and parks spread all around the neighborhood. There are small garden parks and missions like Japanese Garden and Mission San Fernando.

Apart from that, various recreational centers also reside in the valley, such as the Hansen Dam recreation area and Sepulveda Dam.

About 21 mountain open space parks are present in the valley, including Brand Park, LaTuna Park, and Santa Susana Pass State Historic Park. In addition, the valley has more than thirty neighborhoods associated with it.

Three different districts, Los Angeles Unified School District, the Glendale Unified School District, and the Burbank Unified School District, serve the educational system in the region.
