Encino is a community belonging to Los Angeles, California, and falls in San Fernando Valley. The name of the town takes inspiration from Rancho Los Encinos, founded in 1845. The town resides right at the heart of southern San Fernando Valley and is at the north slope of the Santa Monica Mountains. It joins its boundaries with Reseda, Sepulveda Basin, Sherman Oaks, Bel-Air, Brentwood, and Tarzana.

The United States Postal Service manages the Encino post office in various areas. It represents the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors and Los Angeles City Council District 5 and serves the Los Angeles city by the Encino neighborhood council.
