Mission Hills
Mission Hills is a neighborhood in San Fernando Valley located in Los Angeles and has a suburban status. It gets its name after the 1785 Mission San Fernando Rey de España and Pacoima Health Center serving the vicinity.
It is adjacent to the Golden State Freeway (I-5) northern joint and the San Diego Freeway (I-405). The Ronald Reagan Freeway (SR-118) cuts through the community and ends up at Sepulveda Boulevard.
The west side of the Mission Hills touches Sepulveda Blvd and Interstate. There is Interstate 5 to the north and east of the area. Southeast has Van Nuys Boulevard, while Lassen Street is to the south.
Moreover, it has Sylmar, Granada Hills, City of San Fernando, and Pacoima falling on its north, west, northeast, and east while Arleta and Panorama City lie southeast and south. San Fernando Woodman Avenue, Mission Boulevard, Rinaldi, Brand, Devonshire, Chatsworth, and Lassen Streets are the main highways.
According to the census in 2010, 18,496 people were living in Mission Hills with a median age of 36 years. The schools in the area come under Los Angeles Unified School District and have only one private school named Bishop Alemany High School, which the Archdiocese of Los Angeles runs.
The three medical centers serving in the area are; Providence Holy Cross Medical Center, Facey Medical Group, and Kaiser Permanente.
Mission Hills is famous for having old and historic buildings. It has The Andrés Pico Adobe, the second most senior residence in Los Angeles. Along with that, visiotos like to see the historic Mission San Fernando Rey de España.
Its post office is on Sepulveda Boulevard, which The United States Postal Service operates. Additionally, established in 2005 as the 19th station, the Los Angeles Police Mission Area serves the neighborhood and Sylmar, North Hills, Arleta, and Panorama City.
